This page is devoted to reptiles and amphibians. Curiously, many sets featuring both amphibians and reptiles are just called 'reptiles', as is the case with Guinea, Malawi and the Solomons sets below.

The way this page is organised is: first General Reptile and Amphibian Sets, and then the stamps are grouped into Amphibians, Crocodiles, Dinosaurs, Lizards and Snakes, and lastly, Turtles and Tortoises. There are selections at the start of each category, which you can buy as a group at a discount, or you can pick and choose and buy the stamps in the selections individually. The stamps are postally used, apart from those described as CTO (cancelled with neat postmarks for collectors) or mint. The mint stamps are all unmounted.

I have more reptile and amphibian stamps than is possible to show here, so please email me at alisonlever@yahoo.co.uk if you are looking for a particular stamp, or would just like to know what other reptile and amphibian stamps are available.

South Africa

1993 and 1997, Endangered Fauna

The 5c Lizard and 10c Tortoise come from two sets which are very similar, both called 'Endanmgered Fauna'. The 1997 set repeats the designs of the 1993 set, but lacks the border, and some of the animals in the 1997 set face a different direction from those of the 1993 set. I have lizards and tortoises from both sets, all at the same price.
Price: £0.05 each.

Turtles and Tortoises

There are two selections here, with the groupings simply based on how many I have of each stamp. As with the other selections, you can buy them as a group, or buy each stamp individually if you already have some in the selection.

Tortoise and Turtle selection 1

The Australian 20c tortoise stamp is part of a series on Aboriginal Art, issued in 1971. The 50C African Pancake Tortoise came out in 1977 as part of an Endangered Species set. I have it as a Kenyan, and a Ugandan stamp, since those countries shared stamp designs. The Hawkshead turtle from the Bahamas first came out in 1971, and the price depends on the face value (see below). The Canadian 17c Eastern Spiny Soft-Shelled Turtle was issued as part of a 1979 Endangered Species set. The 1972 7c Papuan turtle is part of a Fauna Conservation set. The last stamp, a 12c mythical Turtle, comes from a 1984 Kiribati Legends set.

Prices:
All the stamps above are £0.05 each, except for the 1971 25c Hawkshead Turtle, at £0.10
Or £0.30 for all six stamps (a saving of £0.05).
The Bahamas turtle is also available as a 4c stamp, at £0.60, mint, and as a 6c fu stamp, at £0.30.

The 1973 3L Maldives Land tortoise is part of a Fauna set, and the 1980 Maldives 1L Leatherback turtle is from a Turtle Conservation set. The 1979 5c Malta stamp shows a Loggerhead turtle from a Marine Life set. The 1s Tanzanian Tortoise was issued in 1985 as part of a Rare Animals set.

Prices:
All the stamps above cost £0.05 each, except for the Bermuda 1978 Green turtle at £0.85
Or £1.00 for all six stamps (a saving of £0.10).

Would you like to buy some stamps?

Ordering stamps:

To order stamps, just email me alisonlever @ yahoo.co.uk and let me know what you want. I'll answer as soon as possible. This may not be the same day, but you do get personal service, and I am happy to search for stamps on just about any theme. There are a lot more stamps in stock than is possible to show here, so it's worth asking about your particular interest.

Please allow £0.95 (95p) if you come from anywhere in Europe, and £1.50 if orders are to be sent elsewhere. The postage charge is the same however many stamps you buy. This means that it's cheaper to buy more than one stamp, because the cost of packaging and postage is less per stamp. This reflects the time spent ensuring that the stamps are packed so that they arrive to you safely - it takes about the same time for one stamp as for larger orders.

Your stamps will be sent as soon as I receive payment. You can return the stamps and obtain a refund if they are not what you expected. Paypal is preferred, though other forms of payment can be negotiated. Euros are welcome as well as pound sterling.
